Apollo Pro review

This scooter is the most smoothest and nicest scooter I have ever bought. The lighting system on this scooter is outstanding and is a head turner everywhere you go. People are always asking about it and making compliments. This is the best scooter money can buy

Stylish, Comfortable, and Customizable – Just Needs a Few Tweaks

I've been riding the Apollo Pro for a while now, and it never fails to turn heads. People constantly compliment how sleek and futuristic it looks, and I love how customizable the lighting is. When I ride to Tampa Bay Buccaneers games in my creamsicle jersey, I match the lights to orange. For Christmas, it's red and green—it’s a fun way to personalize the ride. The ride itself is super comfortable, making longer trips a breeze. My only two wishes: I wish they hadn’t discontinued the quad lock that charged your phone (such a useful feature!), and I’d love slightly faster acceleration. Hopefully, there’s an upgrade for that in the future. Overall, it’s an amazing scooter with top-tier design and comfort, just a couple of tweaks away from perfection!

Unfair Customer Service

I want to start off by saying that I really enjoyed the one month that I had this scooter and was riding it! Yet, my scooter was stolen after only 1 month from my own private, gated garage and with a sturdy lock. My problem with Apollo is that these products are made with zero security features and the design has ignored all security concerns. These products should have features and reassurances built in to 1. prevent an easy theft, 2. make them traceable, 3. provide warranty against theft. Basically, with the current design of these products, if for whatever reason, your scooter is stolen even when you have personally taken all security measures, there is no way to find your scooter or get your money back. Right now, I'm expected to make my monthly payments for a total of almost $4k for a scooter I only used 1 month and can never get back again because of the company overlooking safety and security. The customer service is utterly unhelpful, unresponsive, and unapologetic. I urge you to not take a gamble on your money and to look for something that has solid security and safety features and/or theft warranty. The police report is attached.

A True Upgrade

Coming from the Apollo City Pro 2023, I wasn’t sure how much of a difference the Apollo Pro would make, but after putting some miles on it, I can confidently say this is a massive upgrade. The City Pro was a solid scooter, but it always felt like it was just missing something. Is it perfect? No, but here's my honest take. The most immediate improvement is the ride quality. The 12-inch wheels make a world of difference, smoothing out rough pavement and giving me way more confidence at higher speeds. Potholes that used to make me nervous are barely noticeable. The suspension is dialed in well—not overly soft, but enough to take the edge off rougher roads. Handling is sharper, and the redesigned stem angle makes a noticeable difference in stability, especially when carving through turns. Speed was another key factor for me. The City Pro was fine for most situations, but there were times when I felt like I needed just a little more to stay comfortable in traffic. The Pro delivers. And feels safer at 44 mph than the City at 34mph. I feel much safer keeping up with cars without pushing the scooter to its limit. And while some high-performance scooters go even faster, I wouldn’t want to—I already feel like I’m at the sweet spot between power and control. Another standout feature is the build quality. This thing is solid. There’s no rattle, no squeaks—just a smooth, tank-like feel when riding. The RGB lighting isn’t just a gimmick either; it’s bright, noticeable, and makes a real difference in nighttime visibility. People definitely notice this scooter, and that extra visibility is a huge plus for safety. The braking system is also dialed in perfectly. I almost never need to use the drum brakes. That said, the Pro isn’t perfect. It's heavy, the turn radius is much larger than the City, the center stand takes some getting used to, doesnt fold up all the way, and I’d still prefer a traditional kickstand for convenience. The speaker is fine standing still, but cant hear anything wearing a full face helmet. Despite these small issues, the Apollo Pro is hands down the best all-around scooter I’ve ridden. If your priority is ride experience, turning heads, stability, and top-tier build quality, this is the one to get.

Lives Up To The Hype

I love this thing. Bought to replace a City Pro 2023 which was great but a little too slow to keep up with LA traffic, and the small wheels made me paranoid about potholes. I went with the Pro specifically for the 12" wheels, RGB lighting, and overall design. So far it is an absolute winner with only a few (small) issues. Pros: -12" wheels, no longer nervous about potholes all the time (I still feel them and get jolted, but no loss of control). -Suspension feels very competent and planted. Not a cushy ride but not harsh either. -Handling is sharp. I like how the stem is angled back more than my City Pro and it feels much more confident at high speeds and when cornering. -Speed is perfect for me. This thing flies and my top speed around 42 mph is just what I need to keep up with traffic. I would feel sketchy going much faster. -Smooth throttle and acceleration like all Apollo scooters. I value the smoothness a lot even if this scooter is not as brutal at accelerating as other performance scooters. This feature is what brought me to Apollo in the first place. -Regen braking is best in the biz. I don't mind it having drum brakes since I almost never use them and they're less of a headache than disc brakes. -Build quality is very solid and tank-like. Rolls completely silent with no squeaks or rattles. It's heavy but not impossible to lift, wouldn't want to lift up any stairs but could get it into the back of an SUV if I needed to. -Design is awesome, looks totally unique and very visible with the RGB lighting. People have a hard time looking away. Good for being seen on the road. Love the implementation of brake and turn signal lights. -Like how the stem folds and locks to the deck, big improvement over my City Pro. -Included fast charger is appreciated vs. cheaping out with a slow charger. Cons: -Speaker is low-quality and just pointless to me. Custom horn is not easy to use over the built-in bicycle bell. -Center stand is annoying in daily use. I wish I just had a normal kickstand so I could move the scooter around and lean it over instead of having to do a whole maneuver to deploy the center stand. -I find the brake levers are too far from the handlebar to grab easily or quickly. Same problem on my City Pro. -No NFC or other security which is pretty standard on most other scooters. -Was initially sold with IoT and wireless phone charging but they got removed. Would like to at least have the option of having them. -Bugs in the lighting system can cause RGB to strobe or not change color when selected in the app, requiring soft reset. -Deck size is not the biggest for long rides (>10 miles). -Front light for night riding is not especially bright and not adjustable. Conclusion: if you are looking for the biggest wheels and the best lighting with tank-like build quality, then I cannot recommend the Pro enough. If those points are not critical you might be even happier with the upcoming Phantom 2.0 which looks to fix the Pro's few issues. I appreciate that Apollo noticed these issues and is aiming to solve them on their upcoming model, it shows how they listen to customer feedback and are always trying to improve.
