Most commutes break a scooter on one of two specs: it runs out of range before the return leg, or it is too heavy to carry up the stairs at the other end.
An electric commuter scooter is one built for the round trip rather than the joyride: enough range to cover the journey twice, a frame light enough to lift when the ride ends, and lights and brakes rated for traffic. Apollo’s commuter line spans eight models, from the 43 lb Dash at 21 mph and 25 miles to the Explore Stellar at 40 mph and 50 miles.

How to Choose an Electric Commuter Scooter
Matching Range to Your Commute
Take your one-way distance, double it, then add a third. A 9 mile each-way commute is 18 miles of riding, so plan for around 24 miles of rated range. Published ranges are eco-mode figures on flat ground, and real range falls with rider weight, hills and cold weather, as our real-world commuter range data from 92,000 rides shows.
On that arithmetic the Dash at 25 miles suits a commute up to roughly 9 miles each way, the Go and Explore 2.0 suit up to roughly 13 miles, and the City at 43 miles or the Explore Stellar at 50 miles cover the longest daily runs. For more distance again, see our long-range electric scooters.
Weight, Carrying and Storage
If your commute ends with stairs or a walk to a desk, weight matters more than top speed. The line runs from 43 lb on the Dash to 83 lb on the City Stellar, close to double. Treat 60 lb as the practical ceiling for a daily carry, and if you are near it, start with our lightweight and portable scooters.
